VeinViewer™: A Revolutionary New Tool for Phlebologists
The patented Luminetx VeinViewer makes subcutaneous veins visible to the naked eye. It projects real-time images of the exact location of veins directly onto the skin. Anywhere on the body. On any type of patient. An adjustable head can be positioned at any point on the patient’s anatomy, leaving the clinician’s hands free.
VeinViewer uses an infrared light source to image the hemoglobin in red blood cells, allowing a video camera to capture the images – accurate to 0.06 mm of the vein’s exact location. The video images are processed through a computer and projected onto the patient’s skin. With VeinViewer, healthcare providers may quickly and accurately map a patient’s veins for a variety of procedures, regardless of age, gender, body type or skin tone.
Hailed by Time Magazine as “one of the most amazing medical inventions of the year,” this noninvasive technology is ideal for locating spider and varicose veins, for visualizing the progress of sclerosant through the veins during the treatment of telangiectasias, and for accurate treatment verification after phlebectomy procedures.
"VeinViewer not only allows physicians better visibility of veins targeted for treatment, but also provides verification of full and complete treatment. VeinViewer fulfills a basic surgical principle - if I can see it, I can do it."
